Hallo,
jetzt bin ich ratlos: ich habe ein binäres Bild (alles == 1) der Größe 353x137. Das nehme ich jetzt (testweise) als Partikel.
Als schlichter Mensch würde ich den Umfang als 2x353+2x137 = 980 interpretieren.
Das Vison (11) Paket meint "perimeter=974.517"
Ich bin ratlos...

Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie NI hier genau schätzt, aber ich hänge mal mein Testbild mit meinen eigenen Ergebnissen an.
Perimeter:
"Length of a boundary of a region. Because the boundary of a binary
image is comprised of discrete pixels, IMAQ Vision subsamples the
boundary points to approximate a smoother, more accurate perimeter.
Boundary points are the corners of the pixels that make up the boundary"

Was ist denn das für ein Bild im Anhang?
Darauf erkennt man gar nichts.

Serie an Minimalbildern, dh Partikel mit 1•1, 1•2,.. und diversen Konstellationen bis ca 9 Pixel zum Testen der Funktion. Ich konnte den Algo allerdings nicht nachvollziehen (unterschiedliche Ergebnisse für gespiegelte Objekte), aber villecht kann jemand anderer was damit anfangen.

mit anderen Worten: wir sagen Umfang dazu, aber wie es berechnet wird ist geheim...
Wie heisst es bei NI: die Doku schreibt das Strafbattalion
